macbook pro monitor doesn't turn on.

I have a question regarding my Macbook Pro, sometimes when I close the lid and leave the computer in sleep mode, the monitor doesn't light up when I open the lid. The computer is running, the hard drive functions, but the monitor remains black. I have to shut down the computer, or restart it, before the monitor comes up running smoothly again. Any idea why this happens? It's not a major problem but it is pretty annoying.

Do you have Applecare on it?

If it is under warranty, take it to the nearest Apple store and get them to look at it

If it's not under warranty, you probably don't want to know what the likely reasons are. It will just be depressing. Just know that odds are this will likely get progressively worse as time goes by, and eventually you'll have to decide to get a new computer.

If it is under warranty, take the thing in, get it looked at.
