Why are most refurbished notebooks ASUS brand?

At first I believed it was because of "drivers" issue, and people now knowing how to fix it. (heck many people dont even know what drivers are)



But when i started looking around at more refurbished laptops, i noticed 80% of them were ASUS, i know dell has a lot, but they are just not avalible through newegg or amazon



So is it really that ASUS quality is horrible? People not knowing how to use them? What is really causing this problem?



I just bought an UL80(refurbished ofcourse, it was only 550 with shipping and tax) , but am starting to grow concern as to why this is happening.



LASTLY, anyone know the difference between UL80J and UL80JT?

I know the the mouse pad is different thats is all. What does J stand for? T?

Hey - i'm looking for a monitor for my laptop.

I'm looking for something along 21" - i hope to find something with a fairly good price, good color contrast and good viewing angles. It would be a BIG plus if it is able to take a TV-input.

bumpers on cf-19

hey guys does anyone know the differences between those big and small bumbers at the side of the screen. are those different antennas or just bumpers.

so far i could spot 3 different types in videos or on pictures. my cf-19 mk4 is just flat on the sides.

can you buy them as spare parts...?

laptop screen goes white & crashes, reboot problem

I have very unique problem with my Dell Latitude D610 laptop. It is 5 year old, since last few months, when I put my laptop to standby or sleep mode and after a while when I try to put on laptop, it does following:
1-laptop will turn off from standby/sleep mode and it won't turn back on no matter how many times I try, I have to remove battery, power adapter and leave the laptop for 10-20 minutes.
2-after 10-20 minutes when I turn the laptop on, a line will appear on the lcd screen and it will turn white and laptop crashes, this will happen 5-6 times, every time I turn the laptop turn on. after 5-7 times then laptop will turn back on fine and will work fine for next many hours until I put laptop back to standby/sleep mode or turn off completely off and when I turn back the laptop on it will shut-off, I have to wait for 10-20 minutes and screen will turn white and crashes....it will do the same pattern and eventually turn on fine.

This is what I had done to correct the problem:
1-i clean the laptop with dust-off including fan entire laptop if there is heating problem
2-updated most drivers including display etc
3-used external monitor to check for LCD problem, no apparent problem with LCD as when lcd turns white laptop crashes too?
4-use external laptop cooling pad to keep the temp down, use mobile meter software to monitor laptop hdd temp?

I tried everything I could think of?can anyone suggest anything else?in my opinion this is a faulty mother board problem or video graphic card?please help if you can-Thanks

Pavilion dm4-1165dx STICKY TOUCHPAD CLICKS?

After shopping for what felt like weeks for a laptop that suited my needs, I finally opted for this one. It specs out perfectly on paper.



I brought it home and set it up, and it seems like every time I click the mouse buttons, they stick for a moment. It makes an annoying noise as well.



Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if I have a faulty laptop or if it is a "feature". Either way, I either need a new one, or a different model. I just need to know what direction to aim in...

Getting my video card replaced - few questions

A techy is coming later this week to replace my 5850 because of the high temperatures my card reaches; over 100 degrees Celsius after 30 minutes of gaming. My questions are:



Should I delete my overclocking programs before they mess with my system?

Will they apply after market thermal paste for me?

Should I be here while they replace my card? (someone else will be here, just not me)

Should I oc the crap out of my card to see how high I can get my benchmark numbers before I get it replaced?
