Warranty?

Is warranty really needed these things are Thinkpads? I've heard most notebooks break within the first year so I'll be covered, after the first year notebooks last long enough for the next upgrade. Is this true? I could save about $200 dollars with warranty, and I pretty much baby my notebooks.



Have any of you experienced issues with your thinkpad and needed repairs?

If so, did it break within the first year?

Game of the Year? (2010)

So what are the people of notebookreview game or games of the year (2010)?



I know there are so many to choose from and its a little late to discuss this since, but whatever.



If I had to choose 1 it would be Battlefield Bad Company 2 + Vietnam Expansion.

It has not even been a year yet and I have already put in 330+ hours into this game!



Honorable mentions:

Mafia 2 - enjoyed the story and the atmosphere of the game and how it made me feel I was in the 50's.



Mount and Blade Warband - the original was great, but this improved on everything that was good in the first game and there is multiplayer!



Beat Hazard - A space shooter controlled by your music! Loved it!



Splinter Cell Conviction - One HELL of an AWESOME game! Felt like I was playing a summer blockbuster movie.



Biggest disappointment:

Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 - only thing they did right was made loading fast compare to the last game.



So what is everyone else game of the year 2010?

What wireless product do I need to boost my signal?

I am looking for something UNDER $80.

I am also looking to have it completely wireless. I am trying to boost my signal from my bedroom to my living room, so obviously I dont want to have to wire a ethernet cable from on end of my house to another...

Do I need a new antenna? Extender? Acess Point?

There are so many options!

Please reccomend a SPECIFIC product.

Asus G73JH-TY088V Camera driver issue

Hi guyz, i bought Asus G73JH-TY088V and do a Clean Windows install, i installed all drivers Kalim's guide. Before clean instal, my camera was OK.



I can't install camera driver... Chicony_CNF_7246_CR Camera Driver for 2Mpx Camera. That driver i downloaded from AsusTeK support and on My Driver Disk from Asus. But it won't install.

If i click on Setup.exe it respond "Error: USB 2.0 UVC VGA/1,3M/2.0M Web Cam",

but i don't know what is it... Can you help me?

One computer on wireless network slow and dropping out.

Hello, how's everyone?

I have been having an issue with my wireless network for a while now, and have not been able to find a permanent solution. I have two computers in my house connected to a wireless network through a router which is connected to a wired modem. I've had my setup like this for some time. However, the connection on my computer has been slow as of late, and drops out at least a few times a day. The upload speed is dramatically slow as well, while the download speed fluctuates between good and bad from time to time. Whenever my connection drops, it usually fails to reconnect and I have to delete the network from my computer and discover it again. The network is not hidden. Doing this temporarily solves the problem though it repeats itself sooner or later.

Connecting my computer directly to the wired modem solves most of these problems. However, the connection drops when wired as well, though not as frequently.

The other computer has none of these issues, and I've ran comparison tests between my computer and the other computer. It's clearly visible that it's an issue with my computer.

My computer is virus free, I should add. Malwarebytes, Spybot and Avira scans always come up clean save for some occasional tracking cookies.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not a computing novice by any means, however not an intermediate expert when it comes to networking.

My router is a D-Link DIR-300, while the computer in question is a HP Pavilion DV5 laptop.

i do not have a Dedicated audio card, just the audio on the mobo.

I dont know if the charcarias is 5.1 or stereo i have heard both been saiid, IMO i think its stereo as it only has a stereo plug



I want Surround sound in a headset, but im unsure of how this works, if someone could enlighten me
