i3-330um and GMA HD = MW2 possible?

Hey guys,

I've got a question that's been in my head for the past few days.

I'm wondering if the GMA HD can play MW2?

I saw some videos on youtube of the gma hd playing MW2.

But that's with a i3-350m cpu ( If I remember correctly ).

Will the i3-330um limit the clock of the gma hd to 166Mhz?

Because that's what notebookcheck states ( The gma hd will only get to the max clock if the cpu is not under full load ).

Thx in advance.

I doubt you would get any enjoyment playing at the lowest settings, resolution, and awful frame rates that would come with it. I would test it with my ULV netbook, but I don't have the game for PC.

It would be great if u could run some tests.

I'm actually considering to buy a smaller notebook and use it for some light gaming. I don't mind low settings, resolution and such. But I would just like to know if it can play the game smoothly.

Hey, could u download the cod4 demo and try it out?

It would help me out so much.

Thx in advance.

modern warfare 2 on all low settings. The game is running on the Core i3 530 integrated graphics(Intel GMA HD Grahpics) and a resolution 1280x720. I get about 25 frames without fraps. Min 5 Max 33. For some reason it kept frezzeing. it is playable.

If you're looking to run games on a netbook or a like system, I would look at the latest AMD solutions as the graphics are nearly twice of what Intel has and for a lower price. Something like a Lenovo x120e or HP DM1z.

You should be looking at the M11x in that case.

Thx for the suggestions guys.

But I am still very interested to know if an ultra low voltage cpu ( i3-330um ) coupled with the gma hd can play mw2.

In the video, the guy has an i3-350m.

Can anyone help me test out cod4 or mw2 on their notebooks ( with a ulv i3/i5 cpu and gma hd ) at the lowest possible settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you buy a laptop that barely plays a game that you like now? What if a newer and better COD comes out? If you are looking to buy a laptop, tell us what you want and we will find one for you that fits your needs.

My guess is that he wants a laptop with a long battery life considering he keeps on mentioning the ultra low voltage CPU ._.

Really, M11x is probably the only thing that has sorta decent battery life and can play modern games at good fps ._.

If i3-350m with Intel GMA HD can barely play with 25 fps and max of 33 with some freezing, you can have an estimate of how it'll run on weaker hardware. You'd probably touch 20-23 fps at best

My guess is that he is not very high in budget also or else he would have chosen those ASUS with ULV cpu's and dedicated cards that's flowing in the market.

If you don't mind recertified, don't have the budget for a M11x, wants somewhat good battery life, and wants something portable, check out this ASUS.

This laptop can play almost every game on low and some at medium on native resolution
