XPS alternatives?

Well my computer I have now is old and dying quickly. Up until recently I had planned on buying a Dell XPS 8300 but it seems that those have disappeared due to a manufacturing issue and won't be back until April. I will need a computer in the next week or two so what are some alternatives to the 8300 in the same price range and performance range. Its a bummer to not get the 8300 I really liked it but April is just a little too far away? Any help?
