Asus's next step in video

As successful as the graphics switching is for NVidia they have already stated they were not going to be making chipsets anymore. So what kind of future will Asus take in terms of graphics. will they switch to AMD? What will be NVidia's last integrated GPU that we will see. I am not excited about the change to sandybridge. Especially if it means loosing NVidia graphics.

In terms of notebooks, Nvidia's decision to get out of integrated graphics means essentially nothing since most systems sold this year and forward will have integrated graphics from Intel or AMD on the processor chip. Nvidia remains a major player in discrete graphics and Asus will continue to use both their graphics and AMD graphics solutions in their notebooks as they have in the past, by balancing price with performance and power requirements.

The new SB cpu SOC in the newest Macbook Pro with Intel HD is outperformed by the previous generation's Core2Duo with nVidia for framerates across the board.



It is is good, but nVidia's solution was better ... such is what happens in the realm of high stakes lawsuits.
